Job Description:

Part-Time School Nurse

School Nurse in the Spearfish School District. Spearfish School District has an approximate enrollment of 2400 students grades K-12.

Description:
Assists Head School Nurse:
    Provides health assessments;
    Develops and implements health plans;
    Maintains student health and immunization records;
    Administers medications, treatments and procedures as directed by a student’s physical and district policy;
    Trains and supervises staff in delegated tasks;
    Provides health education for students, staff and parents;
    Promotes the control of communicable diseases;
    Assists in the formation of health policies for the district;
    Maintains and assures confidentiality of information
    Inventories and requests equipment and materials needed for health care;
    Participates in ongoing professional growth;
    Other duties as assigned;

Qualifications:
Educational Level: Registered Nurse.
Valid South Dakota Registered Nurse License and Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification. 
Prefer one to three years of experience in the health care field; preferably community/public health, and/or pediatrics.

Salary/Hours:
$29.00 – $31.00/hr.  DOE, 20/hrs., 4 days/week (school calendar).
