Job Description:

The Dell Rapids School District is seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to serve as the Head Girls Golf Coach. The successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of the girls' golf program, including but not limited to:

  • Developing and implementing effective practice plans and game strategies that focus on skill development, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
  • Organizing and supervising all team practices, competitions, and related activities.
  • Providing leadership and guidance to student-athletes, fostering their athletic and personal growth.
  • Teaching fundamental golf skills and techniques.
  • Ensuring the safety and well-being of all student-athletes.
  • Managing team equipment and inventory.
  • Communicating effectively with student-athletes, parents, school administration, and the athletic director.
  • Adhering to all school district policies, rules, and regulations, as well as the rules and regulations of the South Dakota High School Activities Association (SDHSAA).
  • Collaborating with the athletic director on scheduling, budgeting, and program development.
  • Promoting the girls golf program within the school and community.
  • Potentially overseeing and mentoring assistant coaches.

Qualifications:

  • Previous successful coaching experience, preferably at the high school level or equivalent.
  • Strong knowledge of golf fundamentals, rules, and strategies.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively teach and motivate student-athletes.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with students, parents, colleagues, and administrators.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to transport students safely (if required).
  • Must meet all SDHSAA coaching requirements (including certifications and background checks) or be willing to obtain them.
  • A positive role model with a commitment to sportsmanship and ethical conduct.
  • CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
