Job Description:

Dell Rapids High School is looking for passionate and dedicated individual(s) to join our successful football program as an Assistant Football Coach.

 

 

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Assisting the Head Coach in developing and implementing offensive, defensive, or special teams strategies and game plans.
  • Providing instruction and guidance to student-athletes during practices and games, focusing on skill development, technique, and safety.
  • Leading individual or small group training sessions for specific position groups.
  • Assisting with the organization and execution of practice schedules and drills.
  • Evaluating player performance and providing constructive feedback.
  • Contributing to scouting opponents and developing game strategies.
  • Maintaining a positive and supportive team environment that emphasizes sportsmanship, teamwork, and respect.
  • Adhering to all school policies, South Dakota High School Activities Association (SDHSAA) rules, and safety regulations.
  • Assisting with equipment management and maintenance.
  • Potentially assisting with off-season conditioning programs.
  • Communicating effectively with players, parents, and other coaching staff.
  • Representing the football program and Dell Rapids High School in a professional and positive manner.

Qualifications:

  • Previous coaching experience at the high school level or equivalent preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of football fundamentals, techniques, and strategies.
  • Ability to effectively teach and motivate high school student-athletes.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as part of a coaching team.
  • Commitment to the academic and personal development of student-athletes.
  • Must be able to pass a background check and meet all SDHSAA coaching requirements.
