Bachelor’s degree.
Experience Desired:
Experience and/or training in drama or theater.
Other Requirements:
Excellent verbal and written communication. Positive human relations skills with adults and students. Good organizational skills. Strong skills in detailed and accurate work. Ability to work under pressure and with minimal supervision. Able to work irregular/flexible hours. Computer literate.
Physical Requirements:
This position requires constant hand-eye/mind-eye coordination, grasping, repetitive motions with wrists, hands, and fingers. Walking, sitting, standing and talking are constantly required. Visual acuity, hearing and speaking. Ability to lift up to fifty (50) pounds. Standing, climbing, stooping, kneeling. Possible exposure to heat and cold.
Clearances:
Employment is contingent upon a Criminal Justice Fingerprint/Background Clearance, paid for by the applicant.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES:
• Research and select play to be performed by students.
• Conduct auditions.
• Select cast, crew and call backs.
• Attend annual rules meeting.
• Supervise budget and supplies.
• Coordinate with Technical Director to arrange type of set, lighting, and props.
• Schedule and conduct rehearsals.
• Consult and assist Costume Coordinator to obtain essential costumes.
• Assist Musical Director with vocal and instrumental needs.
• Design program for performance.
• Arrange for ushers, ticket takers and supervisors.
• Chaperone, supervise and remain with the students when traveling to competitive events.
• Coordinate strike with Technical Director following final performance.
• Clean theater following final performance.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Building Principal.
