Position Overview:
The Elementary Teacher is responsible for creating a positive and engaging learning
environment that fosters academic, social, and emotional growth for students in grades
K-5. This role involves planning and delivering effective instruction, assessing student
progress, and collaborating with colleagues and families to support student success.
Key Responsibilities:
Instruction & Curriculum Delivery
● Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with state standards
and school curricula.
● Differentiate instruction to meet diverse student learning needs and styles.
● Utilize various teaching strategies and technology to enhance student learning.
● Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes respect and
collaboration.
Assessment & Student Progress
● Regularly assess student learning using formative and summative assessments.
● Provide timely and constructive feedback to students and parents regarding
academic progress.
● Maintain accurate records of student performance and attendance.
Classroom & Behavior Management
● Establish clear expectations for behavior and classroom procedures.
● Implement positive behavior management strategies to create a structured and
supportive learning environment.
● Address behavioral concerns in a fair and consistent manner, following school
policies.
Collaboration & Communication
● Communicate effectively with students, parents, colleagues, and administrators.
● Participate in parent-teacher conferences, staff meetings, and professional
development opportunities.
● Collaborate with special education staff, support personnel, and specialists to
meet student needs.
Professional Responsibilities
● Stay current with best teaching practices and educational trends.
● Uphold and enforce school policies, procedures, and ethical standards.
● Engage in ongoing professional learning and contribute to a positive school
culture.
Qualifications & Requirements:
● Education: Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education or a related field.
● Certification: Valid state teaching license/certification.
● Experience: Previous teaching experience is preferred but not required.
● Skills: Strong classroom management, communication, and organizational skills.
Salary: Commensurate with experience and district guidelines
● Base salary of $47,200. Salary could increase depending on experience and
qualifications, in accordance with the district salary schedule.
