Grounds workers must be 18 years or older.
REQUIREMENTS:
Experience Desired:
Experience in operating small to medium-sized lawn equipment, assisting with small repairs, construction projects, painting, and seasonal cleaning of commercial sites.
Other Requirements:
Must have excellent communication (oral and written) and good interpersonal and positive human relations skills. Ability to work alone and be self-motivated. Grounds personnel must have a valid South Dakota driver’s license. May be required to obtain Government Pesticide Application License to spry weeds with additional compensation.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to work 8 to 9-hour shifts on his/her feet. Ability to climb ladders to heights of 6 feet. Regularly required to lift up to 25 pounds, occasionally required to lift up to 70 pounds and carry for a distance of 50 feet and stack 4 feet high. Walks stairs unaided in a multilevel facility. Regularly required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, climb, balance, stoop, and kneel. Must be able to read and understand labels and schedules. Requires working in all conditions which may contain dust and paint or chemical odors. Must be able to work occasional evenings and weekends due to weather-related delays.
Clearances:
Employment is contingent upon a Criminal Justice Fingerprint/Background Clearance, paid for by the applicant.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES:
Mow lawns, weed eat, edge lawns, blow leaves, pick up leaves and grass, and operate estate lawn sprinklers.
Assist with small repairs and construction projects.
Plant grass, trees, and shrubs.
Clean ball fields, parking lots, and playgrounds.
Perform other duties as assigned daily by the Director of Operational Services or designee.
Salary:
$15.55 per hour, 40 hours per week, no benefits.
