Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for students with disabilities.
• Design and deliver engaging, differentiated instruction aligned with students’ goals and the general education curriculum.
• Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to create inclusive learning experiences.
• Conduct assessments to evaluate student progress and adapt instruction accordingly.
• Provide targeted support in academic, social-emotional, and behavioral areas.
• Use evidence-based strategies and tools to address a variety of learning styles and needs.
• Maintain accurate and timely records of student progress, behavior plans, and communication with families.
• Participate in professional development to stay current with best practices in special education.
• Foster a positive, respectful, and safe classroom environment where all students feel valued.

Qualifications

• Required: Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related field.
• Valid South Dakota teaching certification in Special Education.
• Experience working with elementary-aged students with disabilities.
• Knowledge of IEP development, implementation, and compliance.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and collaboration skills.
• Commitment to creating an inclusive and equitable educational environment.
