Job Description:
QUALIFICATIONS:
Extensive knowledge of diesel technology with a minimum of three years shop experience as a technician.
Diesel Technology diploma/degree preferred.
Computer literate including truck engine and/or agriculture equipment software.
Excellent people skills, and an affinity for working with young adults and coworkers in a team environment.
Bilingual a plus and/or National Career Readiness Certificate Level Silver or higher a plus.
REPORTS TO: Diesel Department Supervisors, Dean of Academics, Vice President
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ability to assist in classroom instruction and curriculum development for diesel heavy-duty truck and/or agricultural equipment repair including:
Electrical systems diagnosis
Diesel engine electronic fuel systems
Drive trains
Preventative maintenance
Heating and air conditioning systems
Welding
Hydraulics
Supervision and instruction in the lab.
Maintain inventory and equipment.
Assist with planning, implementation, and evaluation of Diesel curriculum.
Monitor safety procedures in student operation of equipment and overall lab safety.
Work in partnership with Diesel instructors to create an effective teaching team.
Assist with student recruitment/public relations for the department and Lake Area Tech.
Provide a positive role model for students; develop and maintain industry connections.
Assume the role of inventory control and purchase operations for the Diesel department.
Manage and supervise diesel specialty

Salary Range -$47,500.00 - $66,500.00 / Per Year
Shift Type -Full-Time
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
180-day contract. Salary and benefits are set by the Watertown Board of Education in accordance with the state postsecondary technical instructor salary formula.
