Job Description:
Work Days: School calendar term or as assigned at the time of employment or as amended. Hours flexible but not to exceed 7 ½ hours per day with a morning and afternoon break and a ½ hour lunch break; breaks will be pro-rated for shorter contract hours of duty
Reports To: Primarily the learning center teacher who is responsible for special education student or students’ program in the building
REQUIREMENTS: Special education student(s) in various settings as directed by the IEP and special education teacher
JOB SUMMARY: Works directly with the classroom teacher to provide clerical and instructional support of the teacher
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITES:
Works with student(s) with disabilities under the direction and supervision of the learning center teacher
Provides lesson and learning reinforcement through a variety of activities which follow the goals set forth on the child’s IEP and which are consistent with the instruction with the teacher.
Follow behavior plans and procedures as set down in school policy or in student individual behavior plans
Provide assistance in self help and custodial needs, including dressing, toileting, feeding, etc.
Maintains strict confidentiality regarding student information, needs, behaviors, and programming.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Primary Location -Mellette Elementary School
Salary Range -$15.60 / Per Hour
Shift Type -Full Time/10 month
