  Wolf Creek Elementary School

Position:  Cook (helper, baker, breakfast)
 
QUALIFICATIONS:
Must have a High school diploma or equivalent.
Must be in good health and capable of fulfilling assigned duties and tasks.
Physical or Statement of Health from a certified health professional.
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
Must be able and willing to learn new aspects of the job.
Must have clean personal habits.
 
REPORTS TO: Head Cook and Food Service Director and Building Principal.
 
JOB GOAL:
To serve the students attractive and nutritious meals in an atmosphere of efficiency, cleanliness and warmth.
 
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.    Assists in the preparation and serving of food in a quick and pleasant manner.
2.    Assumes responsibility for ensuring that during meal service periods the supply of food offered is replenished regularly.
3.    Assists in the daily clean up of the kitchen and service areas.
4.    Performs major cleaning of refrigerators and storerooms at regularly scheduled intervals as designated by the cook manager.
5.    Assumes responsibility for storage and disposal of unused foods.
6.    Must be aware of proper Food Safety handling, Storage, cleaning and keep proper record of temperature readings and calibrations.
7.    Other duties as assigned by Head cook, Food Service Director or Principal.
 
EVALUATION:  The Food Service Director along with Building Principal and Head Cook will evaluate performance of this job. 
 
CRIMINAL BACKGROUND CHECK:  All employees in contact with children must submit to and pass the required criminal background check and drug test.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Contract days will depend on the current school calendar. Employee will work 4-8 hours a day depending on agreement.  Salary and work year will be established by the Oglala Lakota County School Board.
