Job Description:

Full-time position starts Fall 2024 (August)

QUALIFICATIONS:

Extensive knowledge of diesel technology with a minimum of three years shop experience as a technician.
Diesel Technology diploma/degree preferred.
Computer literate including truck engine and/or agriculture equipment software.
Excellent people skills, affinity for working with young adults and coworkers in a team environment.
Bilingual a plus and/or National Career Readiness Certificate Level Silver or higher a plus.
 

REPORTS TO: Diesel Department Supervisor, Dean of Academics, Vice President

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

Classroom instruction and curriculum development for diesel heavy-duty truck and/or agricultural equipment repair including:
Electrical systems diagnosis
Diesel engine electronic fuel systems
Drive trains
Preventative maintenance
Heating and air conditioning systems
Welding
Hydraulics
Strong knowledge in preventive maintenance and small diesel engines.
Supervision and instruction in lab.
Maintain inventory and equipment.
Assist with planning, implementation and evaluation of Diesel curriculum.
Monitor safety procedures in student operation of equipment and overall lab safety.
Work in partnership with Diesel instructors to create an effective teaching team.
Obtain ASE certification in all areas taught.
Assist with student recruitment/public relations for department and Lake Area Tech.
Provide a positive role model for students; develop and maintain industry connections.
Other duties as assigned.

Salary Range    -$59,000.00 - $82,600.00 / Per Year
Shift Type    -Full-Time

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

190 day contract. Salary and benefits set by Watertown Board of Education in accordance with the state postsecondary technical instructor salary formula.
